When do I send a Verifi check?
When you book, not at the dock. The dispatcher has just told you the equipment, where the truck is and the MC it runs under. Send the driver a DOTScreener Verifi link right then. The driver opens it on their phone, takes live photos of the truck, trailer, plate and license, and shares their GPS location. You get the photos and a map pin in minutes and compare them to what you were told, while there is still time to walk away.
How does Verifi help stop double brokering?
A double-broker either doesn't have a truck yet or already has a different carrier lined up. Either way the photos give it away: the truck's door shows the carrier name and MC or USDOT number that is actually hauling, the equipment either matches what dispatch described or it doesn't, and the GPS pin shows whether the truck is really 20 miles from your shipper or three states away. A mismatch with the carrier you screened is visible before the freight is loaded.
Does the driver need an app or an account?
