What we set, and why.
Effective Date: May 21, 2026 • Last Updated: May 21, 2026
DOTScreener uses a small number of cookies and similar storage mechanisms (localStorage, sessionStorage) to keep you logged in, keep the Service working, and understand whether the product is useful. We don’t sell your data, we don’t run advertising cookies, and we don’t share cookie data with ad networks or social platforms. The list below is exhaustive for the categories we use today — if it changes, this page changes first.
Strictly necessary
Required for the Service to work. Cannot be disabled.
sb-*-auth-token1 year (rolling, refreshed on use)Supabase (our auth provider)
Keeps you signed in to your DOTScreener account. Set after you complete a magic-link or password sign-in. Used to authorize every API request you make.
sb-*-auth-token-code-verifierSession (cleared after sign-in completes)Supabase
PKCE code verifier used during the magic-link callback. Lives only long enough to complete one sign-in.
_admin_impersonateSessionDOTScreener (first-party)
When a super-admin uses “Impersonate” to view the Service as a specific customer, this cookie records the original admin so we can route them back to their own session. Only set for super-admins.
Functional
Remember preferences and the state of the UI. Easy to disable; you lose nothing security-related if you do.
ds_ui_*Persistent until cleared by youDOTScreener (first-party, localStorage)
Remembers small UI preferences such as the last-selected screen filter and whether sidebar panels are collapsed. Not used for tracking.
Analytics (first-party, aggregate)
How we understand whether the product is helping. No third-party trackers.
ds_anon_id180 daysDOTScreener (first-party)
A random ID used to count unique sessions on the marketing site so we can tell whether a blog post or campaign is working. Never linked to your email or your account.
We don’t run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insights, or any other third-party analytics tracker. If we ever do, this page changes first and you’ll see a consent banner on your next visit.
What we don’t do
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No social-platform pixels (Meta, X, LinkedIn, TikTok).
- No third-party analytics that sell or syndicate your data.
- No selling, sharing, or trading cookie data with brokers, data brokers, or ad networks.
- No fingerprinting or covert tracking when you opt out.
Your controls
You can clear DOTScreener cookies at any time using your browser’s built-in cookie controls (Chrome / Firefox / Safari / Edge all let you clear by site). Clearing the Strictly necessary cookies will sign you out; everything else can be cleared with no loss of functionality.
You can also block third-party cookies entirely in your browser settings. DOTScreener will continue to work, since we only depend on first-party cookies.
If you’re in a jurisdiction with a statutory right to opt out of cookie-based processing (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), email privacy@dotscreener.com and we’ll process the request promptly. Our full practices live in the Privacy Policy.
